EMS Receives FAA Certification for In-Flight Phone, E-mail System

[Satellite Today 06-02-09] EMS Sky Connect's in-flight phone and e-mail access solution, Forte, has received a supplemental type certificate from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), EMS announced June 1.
    The certification authorizes installation of the Iridium-based phone system on Gulfstream G-4 aircraft.
    “There is an undeniable market need for an affordable and feature-rich flight phone. We are meeting that need with the right product during these challenging financial times,” Wiley Loughran, EMS Sky Connect senior vice president of sales and marketing, said Sin a statement.
